Volunteer to support The Florida Orchestra with
one of our volunteer guilds.
In the Tampa Bay area, The Florida Orchestra has four volunteer guilds that host a variety of educational, social, musical and fundraising events throughout the season to raise both awareness of and funds for the orchestra. With two guilds in Tampa, one in St. Petersburg and one in North Pinellas County, the collective membership is over 700 with annual volunteer hours in the tens of thousands.

North Suncoast Associates supports The Florida Orchestra in fundraising, audience development, education, and other volunteer activities.
President’s Message: Our orchestra support group of couples and singles meets three times a year in the Clearwater/Dunedin area at 6:30 pm for a social hour, a short meeting and a musical/educational program by TFO musicians, which is the highlight of the evening. Attendees meet the musician, hear about the experiences of being a part of the orchestra, learn about the respective instrument, and listen to a short musical program.

A special gathering of members to welcome in the new Florida Orchestra season. We will “tune up” with an overview of the upcoming year’s activities and events while socializing and enjoying drinks and a delicious assortment of sweet rolls. A special musical program will be presented as a highlight. It will be fun to again see our established members and to meet new members.

“Know the Composers” — a series of five sessions with each focusing on a composer whose works will be played by The Florida Orchestra—understanding goes a long way in rendering relevant a body of music we might feel is beyond our grasp.This was a highly acclaimed project, and we plan to offer an additional session this year. Stay tuned for the upcoming schedule. This is a joint project with the Carrollwood Cultural Center.

VIVO (Vitality Interested Volunteers for The Florida Orchestra) is a nonprofit organization which was founded by Barb Izzi in 2001. Its mission is to support and create awareness of The Florida Orchestra to young members and other target markets though monthly mixers, events and group concerts available to members and their guests at a discounted rate. All proceeds from these events are tax deductible to the extent of the law and donated to The Florida Orchestra.
