Volunteer Guilds

Volunteer to support The Florida Orchestra with
one of our volunteer guilds.

In the Tampa Bay area, The Florida Orchestra has three volunteer guilds that host a variety of educational, social, musical and fundraising events throughout the season to raise both awareness of and funds for the orchestra. With guilds in Tampa, St. Petersburg and North Pinellas County, the collective membership is over 700 with annual volunteer hours in the tens of thousands.

The Florida Orchestra/North Suncoast Associates

Since 1995, The North Suncoast Associates membership organization in northern Pinellas County and Pasco County has worked to support the primary purpose of The Florida Orchestra (TFO) in audience development, education, fundraising, and other volunteer activities that meet orchestra need and membership interests.

President’s Message: Our orchestra support group of couples and singles meets three times a year in the Clearwater/Dunedin area at 6:30 pm weekdays for a social hour, a brief meeting and a musical/educational program by TFO musicians…the highlight of the evening. Members and guests meet the featured musician and his/her instrument, learn about being a part of the orchestra and hear a short musical program. We offer several friend and fundraising events annually that feature intimate musical performances as well as the opportunity to mingle with men and women who share a passion for of live classical music. We welcome persons of all ages and backgrounds. Events are posted as they are announced. All are open to the public.

VIVO

VIVO (Vitality Interested Volunteers for The Florida Orchestra) is a nonprofit organization which was founded by Barb Izzi in 2001. Its mission is to support and create awareness of The Florida Orchestra to young members and other target markets though monthly mixers, events and group concerts available to members and their guests at a discounted rate. All proceeds from these events are tax deductible to the extent of the law and donated to The Florida Orchestra.

VIVO’s final mixer of the 2010/2011 season was hosted by the Arthur Murray Dance Studio on S. MacDill Avenue in Tampa with entertainer Don Juceam entertaining everyone with his Frank Sinatra music. During the evening, VIVO presented The Florida Orchestra with a donation. VIVO members and guests raised $5,000 this year for TFO with their fun-filled monthly mixers at different venues around the Tampa Bay Area. Pictured right: VIVO Board members Bill Deen, Angela Montoya, Barb Izzi and President Renate Armitage, Don Juceam and TFO Development Director Emily McClain.

The new season will kick off July 12th at Sophie's French Bakery & Cafe. Don't miss out, become a member today for a tax deductible $35 for the entire year through June 2012! Contact renate1@tampabay.rr.com to join.
