Family Concerts:
From Rags to Mozart

The Florida Orchestra Reed Trio will present music ranging from Mozart’s Divertimento to Confrey’s Kitten on the Keys rag. Explore different musical styles covering 4 countries and 3 centuries with the oboe, clarinet, and bassoon.

These interactive, casual chamber concerts introduce young children (preK-2nd grade) to classical music and help develop focus, creativity and critical thinking skills. They’re also just plain fun.

Performances last about 35 minutes. TFO partners with a variety of community organizations for activities that start 30 minutes before each performance, including the North Suncoast Associates’ popular Instrument Petting Zoo.

The 11:15 am performance will be sensory friendly. TFO and the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at the University of South Florida are partnering to provide a sensory-friendly Family Concert. This performance is designed to serve children and families with sensory sensitivities. The concert will essentially be the same as any other Family Concert. Our aim is to create a safe and accepting environment where children on the autism spectrum and their families can experience a high-quality artistic performance. Social experience stories will be available for sensory-friendly performances to help children prepare for the outing, from start to finish. Admission is pay what you can at the door or call the ticket center for advance reservations.
