The education programs of The Florida Orchestra seek to cultivate an appreciation for the experience of live orchestral music and to provide support for music education at all age levels throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Youth Concerts: Specially designed for students in the third through fifth grades, these 45-minute concerts are presented during the school day at the major concert venues around the Tampa Bay area. Students and teachers prepare for the concerts through curriculum materials designed in accordance with state education standards. Each season, thousands of students from Hillsborough and Pinellas school districts attend these programs, which are also open to private and home schools on a limited space-available basis. For more information, please contact email@example.com.

Instrument Petting Zoo: Presented by the North Suncoast Associates, The Florida Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo provides a unique, free opportunity for children to learn about the various orchestral instruments and their families. At the end of this half hour program, pick out your favorite instrument and join in the exciting cacophony of a make-believe orchestra. If you’re lucky, you might even be chosen to conduct! Have an old flute or perhaps a student-sized violin lying around? The zoo is grateful to accept donated instruments for children to play on. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Each year, a winner of the annual Sphinx Competition performs with TFO on a Coffee Concert and spends time working with students in area schools as an ambassador for classical and symphonic music. Learn more about the Sphinx Organization at www.sphinxmusic.org.
